DISCOVER THE JOYS OF GLAMPING IN YORKSHIRE.
I love my nomadic life in my motorhome ,Dora the Explora, but there are times when I just want to glamp it up a bit. So I was thrilled when I got the chance to head to the beautiful and picturesque Caravan and Motorhome Club campsite at Cayton Bay in North Yorkshire https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/club-sites/england/yorkshire/north-yorkshire/Cayton-Village-Club-Campsite/
to stay in an Experience Freedom Glamping cabin. https://www.experiencefreedom.co.uk/locations/regions/north-of-england/yorkshire/cayton-village/
I got a very warm welcome from the friendly and helpful staff. I loved how beautifully decorated my glamping cabin was, with plenty of seating inside and outside.
All the kitchen equipment and bedding I needed was provided, I paid a little extra for a towel pack. I also got given two disposable BBQs to use in my BBQ area.
It was nice and peaceful and I could feel myself relaxing straight away. I sat outside reading.
I didn't use the fold down double bed. Instead I headed up the wooden steps to the double bed in a cute mezzanine area.
I caught the bus to Scarborough from the front gate. I had a wonderful time exploring the seaside resort,
particularly the area around the harbour and the lighthouse. You can walk for miles along the seawall and enjoy views over to sea. Of course I had to get myself some fish and chips on the seafront.
It was great fun taking the Victorian electric powered Cliff Railway, in the South Bay, to see the impressive grade 11 listed Grand Hotel. If you feel more energetic you can join parts of the Cleveland way walk from here.
I headed along the vast stretches of almost deserted beaches to the Victorian spa.
Back at the Glamping pod I loved just pottering around, enjoying my plush surroundings. If I did not want to cook there was the option of a food shack on site and a site shop.
The next day I caught the bus to Filey. Wow, it was well worth the twenty minute ride.
That section of coastline is very dramatic. I enjoyed a stroll along the seafront reading about how the town in steeped in aircraft history. And just watched the world go by.
I was only there for a few days but I will be back because there is so much to do in the area. The beach and village at Cayton Bay are walkable. Whitby and Bridlington are a short drive away. The CAMC ,Experience Freedom, Glamping, is such great value for money.
